The Bison’s lineup on the mat this winter came into focus last Wednesday at Central City High School as family and fans filled the stands to watch the local team’s annual wrestle-off held at the middle school gymnasium.

In the final game of the regular season, with a district title on the line, a potent rushing attack from Aurora propelled the Huskies to a 27-12 victory over Central City, giving the Bison their first loss of the year.

The Central City Volleyball team dropped two matches last week, then fell in the opening round of the C1-8 Subdistrict Tournament Monday evening, bringing their final season record to 13-15. On their home court against state-rated Thayer Central last Tuesday, the Bison dropped the opening set 25-15 but stormed back to a 25-21 win in the second.
