Bison best Whippets, remain undefeated

Last Tuesday evening, in one of the biggest tests of the year, the Central City Lady Bison passed with flying colors. The Green and Gold traveled to Minden to square off with the defending Class C1 state tournament bronze medalists and, with the help of an early scoring run, defeated the Whippets in convincing fashion, 54-29, to improve their season record to 5-0.

Nebraska Christian upends Storm

A first quarter surge, paired with a complete team performance on offense, helped boost the Nebraska Christian girls to a 44-28 win over High Plains last Tuesday evening in Central City. Six different Eagles scored points in the contest but, early on, Sheridan Falk and Taytum Perdew were on a roll.

Bison take second at Peru State Invite

Central City shined at last Friday’s Peru State Wrestling Invitational, winning twelve total medals, coming away with nine top-three finishes, and claiming five total gold medals. That combined effort put the Bison into second place in the team standings, only falling to Omaha Bryan in a tight race at the top.

Central City girls place fifth at Aurora

Five individual medals, headlined by a first place finish by Maci Peters, put the Central City girls’ wrestling team into fifth place at last Thursday’s Aurora Invitational. At 135 pounds, Peters needed just twenty-seven seconds to pin Lara Fernandez of York in the first round, then won by fall over Eva Hesso of Lincoln North Star in fifty-four seconds.
