Aurora tops Central City 42-21 in opening round of the state football playoffs The 2025 football season came to an end for Central City last Friday as the Bison suffered a first-round exit from the NSAA Class C-1 State Football Playoffs at the hands of Aurora, 42-21. “These seniors have raised our program to a place it has never been,” Central City Coach Troy Huebert said.

Senior Julia Buss, in her final race sporting the Green and Gold, fittingly posted her second fastest time of the season to take home a forty- eighth place finish to lead all Bison.

Central City ends season in subdistricts

The Central City Volleyball team dropped two matches last week, then fell in the opening round of the C1-8 Subdistrict Tournament Monday evening, bringing their final season record to 13-15. On their home court against state-rated Thayer Central last Tuesday, the Bison dropped the opening set 25-15 but stormed back to a 25-21 win in the second.
