Central City Seniors move to 12-0 The Central City Post 6 Seniors improved their record to 12-0 last week, notching impressive wins over Grand Island USave Pharmacy and Doniphan-Trumbull- Giltner (DTG) on Thursday and Sunday, respectively. On Thursday, against USave at the newly renovated Ryder Park, Conner Erickson got the starting pitching nod and blanked the home team through three complete innings.

The Central City Juniors trailed for six complete innings before evening the score against Grand Island Pro Team Design in the seventh frame. Despite that late surge, the hosts won in walk-off fashion, edging out the Green and Gold 8-7.

Ten hits, six errors, and a standout pitching performance from Kayden Morner resulted in a dominant 16-1 win for the Central City Seniors in last Wednesday’s road battle with Aurora. The Green and Gold offense pounced early on Mitchell Field, scoring four runs on hits from Morner and Martin Gonzales.

The top senior basketball players from the Lou-Platte Conference got one last chance to showcase their skills on the hardwood last Thursday as they took on the best of the best from the Southwest Conference in the 2026 New West All-Star Classic in Minden.

Central City was well-represented at last Thursday’s New West All-Star Classic basketball game in Minden, with standout graduates Payton Burbach and Reagan Fousek taking to the court one last time. In the showdown between the LouPlatte and Southwest Conference all-stars, Fousek finished with three points while Burbach was close behind with two.

The Central City Post 6 Juniors kicked off last week with a 12-9 win over Doniphan- Trumbull-Giltner (DTG) on Monday, but saw their record slip one game under .500 after falling to Aurora and Centura on Wednesday and Thursday.

There was a slugfest in Central City last Wednesday. In the hometown Juniors’ battle with Kearney Jerseys, the two teams combined for twenty-one hits and twenty-five runs, with a walk-off hit by Jayden Carlson cementing a 1312 victory for the Green and Gold.

After five games, the Central City Seniors remain perfect on the year. Last week, the Green and Gold rattled off three consecutive wins to improve their regular season record to 5-0, beginning with an impressive 12-0 shutout victory over Kearney Jerseys on Wednesday at Kernel Field.

Central City graduates Parker Zikmund and Wyatt Dent represented the Bison at last Saturday’s 68th annual Shrine Bowl. This year’s Shrine Bowl contest was held at the University of Nebraska-Kearney’s Cope Stadium.

The top of the batting order shined for Central City last Tuesday, helping lead the Green and Gold Seniors toa convincing 11-3 victory over Aurora at Kernel Field. Starting pitcher Kayden Morner held the visitors scoreless through two innings, but the hosts faced struggles of their own offensively, leaving four baserunners stranded before reaching home plate.
