Graduation Memories

Body
There will be plenty of memories stored from a great graduation weekend as all three local schools held their graduation festivities. For some like Amanda Carlson (top left) the day was an opportunity to address her fellow Nebraska Christian classmates. It was the same for Hailey Lindburg (top right) as she was able to deliver her valedictorian address to the Class of 2023 at High Plains. For other students the day didn’t mean walking to the stage to deliver a speech, but it did present an opportunity to walk across the stage to accept their diploma in front of family and friends. For Cole Brandes (bottom photo) there was plenty of family cheering him on including his grandparents Sharon and Roger Brandes.

The trio earned the victory by earning $8,569 on their hypothetical $100,000 investment in just one semester.

A Spirea for Every Landscape For 2023, the National Garden Bureau’s shrub of the year is Spirea, which unfortunately often gets overlooked during the spring buying-rush as old-fashioned and uninteresting. In reality, spireas are tough, easy-to-grow shrubs and a workhorse in modern landscapes.

The Bible Says

Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. - Proverbs 30:5 Proverbs 3: 1-12 1 My son, do not forget my law, but let your heart keep my commands; 2 For length of days and long life and peace they will add to you.

Legislative Update

Body
One of the overarching purposes of government is to preserve peace and, when peace is violated, to provide justice for all. Unfortunately, however, governments–even at the state level— are behaving more as instruments for redistribution of wealth. People are looking more and more toward government to provide for their needs and even their wants (which go far beyond needs).

If, however, you did not turn on the news, King Charles the Third was crowned the King of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealths, on Saturday May 6th, 2023. A historical event that won’t be repeated until Prince William takes the throne.
