Body UNITED STATES JULY 1 CATTLE INVENTORY DOWN 3% All cattle and calves in the United States as of July 1, 2023 totaled 95.9 million head according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. All cows and heifers that had calved totaled 38.8 million head.
