Local craftsman Russ Saunders continues passion recognized by Husker volleyball coach

Body
When University of Nebraska-Lincoln volleyball coach John Cook took to the floor to speak after the Husker volleyball match at the Bison Activity Dome, he mentioned the pair of boots that he was wearing. Cook also mentioned how they were made by local craftsman Russ Saunders, here in Central City. While Coach Cook usually only uses the boots when he is out riding horses, he made sure to sport them to the match in Central City where the boots hold their origin story.

Dome Sweet Dome

Body
It was a weekend to remember and it all began with a large welcome for the Husker volleyball team (top photo) as the Bison band played them off the bus and inside the Bison Activity Dome where balloons and decorations waited. The event on Friday was a success as was the main event on Saturday. It took a village to make this event come to life beginning with a conversation between Jeff Jensen (bottom) and Barry Carlson in 2020. Saturday, Jensen had a moment to soak it all in as the dome began to fill with Husker volleyball fans.
