Summer Food Service Program aims to build community by connecting with youth over lunch

Monday night the City Council of Central City approved a new food program to operate at South Park this summer and by Tuesday the Leadership Center, based out of Aurora, had boots on the ground as they began their Summer Food Service Program, better known as Lunch Bunch.

Hey, Big Boy!

Sunday will be an exciting day for local train enthusiast as the historic Big Boy No. 4014 will pass through Central City headed to Omaha. Big Boy will make a stop in Grand Island Saturday at 3pm near the Walnut St. crossing and then will head out of Grand Island at 8am Sunday morning headed to Columbus. No local stop is planned, but the historic engine will be seen on Sunday and when it returns on June 29.
