Nebraska Christian’s Sheridan Falk put together a heroic performance in last Tuesday’s C2-2 Subdistrict Tournament game with Freeman. Coming into the meeting, the senior led the state in scoring with 23.6 points per game and, in what would ultimately be her final game sporting an Eagles’ uniform, saved her best performance for last.

Five Central City wrestlers medal at state tournament Central City’s Ace Schweitzer won his second gold medal on Saturday, headlining a meet that featured numerous highs for the Bison wrestling team at the NSAA Class C State Wrestling Championships. At CHI Health Center in Omaha, five of the Bison’s eight state qualifiers secured hardware, with the team bouncing around the top ten throughout the three-day tournament.

Two Central City High School wrestlers made history last week, as both Maci Peters and Keleigh Gonzalez became the first Bison to not only qualify for the NSAA Class B Girls State Wrestling Championships, but also the first to earn medals in Omaha.

Three wrestlers represent High Plains at state meet High Plains’ Dakota Gress ended her prep wrestling career with a memorable moment. Despite an early round loss at the NSAA Class B Girls State Wrestling Championships in Omaha, Gress rebounded, won three matches in the consolation bracket, and ended her career with her second medal in two years.

After an impressive first half against the state-rated Fullerton Warriors, the Central City Bison fell victim to a second half rally, resulting in a 68-56 loss on their home court last Friday. Karter Negus had it going on offense early on.
