Daily Activity Report Monday, April 10 Officer responded to a criminal mischief complaint in the 2400 block Of 19th Avenue, situation resolved. Officer responded to a suspicious subject in the 2000 block of 16th Avenue, made contact with subject, situation resolved.

Last week, I had the opportunity to travel home to Nebraska and visit with many of you in the state. It’s always a delight to be back home interacting with fellow Nebraskans, and I’m thankful I was able to participate in some great events.

With so much conversation surrounding Central City Public Schools for their accomplishments in building a successful environment for learning, some may think that it would be easy to lose sight of the students who are making extraordinary impacts on the world around us.

Monday and Tuesday night Central City High School was the site of a large crowd, but not for the normal sporting event or school activity. This time around it was a pair of meetings that had the potential to shape our community for years to come.

Following days of speculation, last Thursday at City Hall, Mark Dreher (left) was sworn in as the Central City Police Department Police Chief while Mayor Tim Bolling (right) offered his congratulations. Chief Dreher is now on the job as he replaces former Chief Mark Hogue.
