Chamber holds annual Gala

It had been three years since the Central City Area Chamber of Commerce was able to hold their annual Gala and for some it was a mystery if the annual event would make a return. The mystery was solved in more than one way last Saturday as the annual event made a triumphant return while offering a night full of entertainment and recognition.

Banks Wraps and Signs continues to thrive with expansion into second location

Banks Wraps and signs has now opened a new, second location just outside of Central City, on the east side of town. With the larger shop space, they will now be able to work on larger vehicles and expand the business. The major growth comes after years of hard work by Kegnide Oladjide Bankole, commonly known as “Banks” around town.

County Board holds meeting

Two weeks ago the community joined together with the Merrick County Board of Supervisors and the Litzenberg Long Term Care Board as options and future planning were discussed in regards to the future of the Merrick County owned long term care facility. No action was taken that night, but a quality discussion was had.

Town hall furthers Long Term discussion

As the Merrick County Board of Supervisors and the Litzenberg Long Term Care Board took their seats inside the Merrick County 4-H Conference Room they did so with the faces of roughly eighty concerned citizens looking back at them. It was standing room only inside the conference room as many came to ask questions and voice concerns in relation to a proposed $2.4 million renovation plan for the Merrick County owned long term care facility.
