The City Council of Central City has seen some changes in recent months, but it appears that the puzzle pieces have fallen into place after Monday night’s monthly meeting of the council.

The Heartland United Way and Greater Grand Island Community Foundation hosted the 10th annual Go Big GIVE event on Thursday, May 4, with a record-breaking total by raising $1,653,234 with 5,013 donations for 157 local nonprofits in Merrick,Hall, Hamilton and Howard Counties.

It was a weekend to remember and it all began with a large welcome for the Husker volleyball team (top photo) as the Bison band played them off the bus and inside the Bison Activity Dome where balloons and decorations waited. The event on Friday was a success as was the main event on Saturday.
