As we now officially find ourselves in the spring season many of us will look to get rid of some of that winter clutter with some spring cleaning. The same can be said about the City of Central City who will look to hold their annual clean up day and also do annual spring maintenance.

Tuesday morning the Merrick County Board of Supervisors met for their regularly scheduled meeting with plenty of items to discuss. The year is moving fast and 2023 budget preparation was a topic of conversation along with the big conversation of Litzenberg Long Term Care and potential renovation projects or a new facility.

Legislative Update

Over the last two weeks we have discussed the origins of public education in America and where we are now. This week, as we consider ways to reform our education system, I will cover the legislation now before us providing for school choice. Among the 50 states in the union, this is something that only Nebraska and North Dakota do not have. All other states do have some form of school choice. Legislative Bill 753 (LB753) is a path to making education more affordable, creating a better product for our kids and giving parents a choice for their children’s education.

Daily Activity Report Monday, March 6 Officer responded to complaint in the 1500 block of 28th Street, Complaint is still under investigation. Officer assisted the Central City Ambulance in the 1600 block of 16th Avenue.
