Central City ends season in subdistricts

The Central City Volleyball team dropped two matches last week, then fell in the opening round of the C1-8 Subdistrict Tournament Monday evening, bringing their final season record to 13-15. On their home court against state-rated Thayer Central last Tuesday, the Bison dropped the opening set 25-15 but stormed back to a 25-21 win in the second.

BISON BATTLE AT STATE GOLF

The Central City Girls’ Golf team competed at the NSAA Class C State Golf Championships in North Platte last Monday and Tuesday, marking the Bison’s first time qualifying since 2012. Leading the Green and Gold at the rainy Lake Maloney Golf Course was junior Cyah White Bull, who carded a score of ninety-eight on Monday and ninety-four on Tuesday.

Bison fend off Broken Bow 34-20

On the first drive of last Friday’s game between Central City and Broken Bow, Bison quarterback Parker Zikmund punctuated a long series with a six-yard touchdown pass to Luke McHargue. That scoring strike put the senior gunslinger into the Central City record books, marking Zikmund’s sixty-fourth career passing touchdown - a new school record.
