Central City girls place fifth at Aurora

Five individual medals, headlined by a first place finish by Maci Peters, put the Central City girls’ wrestling team into fifth place at last Thursday’s Aurora Invitational. At 135 pounds, Peters needed just twenty-seven seconds to pin Lara Fernandez of York in the first round, then won by fall over Eva Hesso of Lincoln North Star in fifty-four seconds.

Nebraska Christian falls to Archangels Catholic in thriller

Someone had to lose last Tuesday’s game between Nebraska Christian and Archangels Catholic. On the court in Central City, the two state tournament hopefuls went toe-to-toe, made multiple runs, and brought things down to the wire, but despite standout performances from Nebraska Christian’s Sheridan Falk and Taytum Perdew, the Defenders were able to make a late run for a 4642 victory.

Central City competes at Adams Central, York The Central City Bison got their first taste of tournament competition on the mats on Saturday, and while the Green and Gold picked up a pair of gold medals during the event, the early season competition left the Bison hungry for more. On Saturday, the Bison joined fourteen other teams at the York Invitational.
