10 Years Ago Central City Dairy Queen owner Aaron Kunz explained how a franchise works to members of the Merrick Foundation’s ESI (entrepreneurship) Camp. Ten Merrick County middle school students attended the week-long camp.

Growing up in this community, there were always a few places that were staples for special occasions. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Central City continues their 100th Anniversary celebration this coming Sunday, June 30 when guest pastor Rev. Scott Porath will preach at the 10:30 service. Pastor Porath served the church from 1991-1996. There will be a potluck dinner following the service. All are invited to come.

The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE) will accept grant applications for its 2025 Waste Reduction and Recycling Incentive, Litter Reduction and Recycling, and Scrap Tire programs beginning June 26 until 4 p.m. on Aug. 7, 2024.
