The Central City Bison wrestling team wrapped up a pivotal week with standout performances that solidified their standing as a premier team in the state.

Last Friday the Cross Country community was dealt a hefty blow with the passing of long-time Nebraska Christian head coach Scott Johnson. Coach Johnson was known and well respected for his kind heart and love of the sport, but it was his love of God that was his true passion.

The High Plains Lady Storm hit a speed bump on their journey through the Crossroads Conference Tournament this past Tuesday. After an encouraging victory over Shelby-Rising City, the Storm faced a formidable opponent in Cross County, resulting in a 58-17 setback for the team.

The Central City High School girls’ basketball team has built a winning streak with decisive victories over Fillmore Central and Arcadia/Loup City, bringing their season record to an impressive 8-4.
