Coming into the new season there were holes from last year’s lineup to fill for the Bison. Guys like Truman Ryan (15) and Colter Lueders (12) were expected to play much larger roles this season. Both have already been key contributors for the Bison in a pair of wins.

Three Wise Men

No, not those wise men, but when it comes to wrestling you would be hard pressed to find a more dedicated group. Last Friday the program honored Terry Elge, who has coached at the school since the wrestling program was founded in 1998. Eagles wrestling looks to inject new life into historic program for 2023/24

The Nebraska Christian wrestling team has commenced their 2023/24 season with enthusiasm and notable performances at the Harvard Wrestling Invitational. Guided by the new coaching staff, including the additions of Greg Smith and the return of two-time state champion Carl Mundt, the team is looking to make a significant impact this season.

Winter Wonderland

This past week we were able to attend some preseason competitions to get a look at some Bison and Eagle teams. This coming week will give us the opportunity to further see these teams along with Storm teams. Monday night inside the Bison Activity Dome it was the Bison and the Eagles squaring off in the annual Hall of Fame Game. Left to right from top left: Emma Steinke (3) boxes out Gracie Hackel. Reagan Fousek glides through the air in the matchup that was ultimately won by the Eagles. On the boys side it was an exciting contest featuring Ayden Zikmund (3) and Micah Perdew (23) as the Bison took the victory. In wrestleoff action Tristan Burbach preps for another big year while guys like Harley Senkbile also secured a varsity roster spot.

Numbers Game: Central City and Centura merge to form new look Kernels without Fullerton

In a significant reshuffle of high school baseball alliances, the Central City and Fullerton school boards have decided to dissolve their merger in the Kernels baseball team. This move redirects the trajectory of the program, with Central City and Centura High Schools now banding together to continue the Kernels without Fullerton’s involvement.

New look Bison look to continue climb into the 2023/24 basketball season

The Central City Bison are set to embark on the 2023/24 boys’ basketball season, following an impressive 24-4 record last year and a state tournament appearance. This season, the Bison, coached by BJ Blase in his 7th year, face the challenge of filling large shoes left by departing players, while building on the success of one of the best seasons in school history.

Eagles regroup ahead of 2023/24 basketball season

The Nebraska Christian Eagles, guided by Head CoachAndy Perdew in his sixth year, are set to embark on the 2023/24 boys’ basketball season with renewed vigor and an infusion of young talent. After a strong finish last season with a 15-8 record and winning the Golden Rod Conference, the Eagles face the challenge of rebuilding with a predominantly inexperienced squad.
