Juniors win one, fall twice

Body The Central City Post 6 Juniors kicked off last week with a 12-9 win over Doniphan- Trumbull-Giltner (DTG) on Monday, but saw their record slip one game under .500 after falling to Aurora and Centura on Wednesday and Thursday.

CARLSON WALKS IT OFF FOR JUNIORS

Body There was a slugfest in Central City last Wednesday. In the hometown Juniors’ battle with Kearney Jerseys, the two teams combined for twenty-one hits and twenty-five runs, with a walk-off hit by Jayden Carlson cementing a 1312 victory for the Green and Gold.

Body Central City graduates Parker Zikmund and Wyatt Dent represented the Bison at last Saturday’s 68th annual Shrine Bowl. This year’s Shrine Bowl contest was held at the University of Nebraska-Kearney’s Cope Stadium.

Central City Juniors suffer first loss

Body Last Tuesday on Kernel Field, Aurora picked up just one more hit than the Central City Juniors, but the Green and Gold struggled to find timely hittings and suffered their first loss of the regular season, 6-2.

Body Bison places twenty-fourth at Class C meet Some of the state’s best golfers teed off at Indianhead Golf Club in Grand Island last week, and among that field of talented linksmen was Central City’s Karter Negus.

Body Central City’s Juniors showed some midseason patience in last Wednesday’s season opener with Ord, drawing twelve walks on the way to a lopsided 12-3 victory. A single from Quentin Herman and a triple by Preston Burbach were the catalyst for three runs in the opening frame.
