Last Friday in Stuart, the High Plains Storm took on the hosting Broncos and came home with their first loss of the season, falling 63-39. Up against a perennial powerhouse, High Plains exited the opening quarter boasting a slim 8-6 lead.

Central City bests Douglas County West Central City punctuated homecoming week with their first victory of the season, and the Bison notched the win in style.

Following a 2-2 start to the season, the Central City Bison hit their stride on the court last week, earning four wins and making a strong showing at the Boone Central Invitational.

Nebraska Christian made the short trip to Polk last Thursday for a showdown with High Plains and, despite a closely contested match, used their firepower to come away with a 3-1 victory.

Last Saturday at Timmerman Park in West Point, the Central City softball team competed alongside some of the best Class C competition in the state at the Guardian Angels Central Catholic Invite.

As the Nebraska football team kicks off its 2026 season with multiple home games at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska State Troopers are teaming up with several partners to help keep fans safe on the road and at the game.
