Legislative Update

We just finished the first session of the two year 108th Legislature and my first year as the senator from District 34. With 2023 being an odd numbered year, lawmakers had 90 legislative workdays. Next year the session will be just 60 days long.

I survived Washington D.C. and I am back here in my bubble that I know and love. It was a great trip and some great memories were made along the way, but I am also happy to be back to normal and here in the office to write this week’s column.

Legislative Update

Loren Lippincott, District 34 Senator In the 2022 election, Nebraskans voted overwhelmingly to join 35 other states in implementing Voter ID. While most agree the integrity of our elections is of utmost importance, we have seen voter fraud on the rise in many parts of the country.

School Choice Puts Kids First

On May 30, 2023, I signed LB753 into law. LB753, known as the Opportunity Scholarship Act, will provide parents the choice in which school to send their children.

Legislative Update

Following college and a year of full time work at KOLN-TV, I joined the Air Force and received my commission as a lieutenant in Officer’s Training School in San Antonio, Texas. One of the very first things we learned in leadership training was how not to lead.
