Body Each year as the school year goes along, we find ourselves putting together a short list of deserving candidates for our annual Male Athlete of the Year. This year was certainly a difficult one as all three schools in our coverage area produced outstanding athletes.

Body Nebraska Christian’s outstanding multi-sport athlete, Reghan Flynn, has been named the 2023 Republican-Nonpareil Female Athlete of the Year.

Body The 2023 Legion Baseball season had been a rough one for the American Legion Post #6 Cornerstone Seniors as they not only had won just three games throughout the regular season, but they also lost one of their key players for the season due to an injury.

Body It was a great season for the Central City/Fullerton Post #6 Juniors who finished their season in Alliance for the Class B State Tournament. Following a 10-5 loss to Wahoo and a 4-3 loss to Holdrege, their season came to an end with a 24-5 record and Area B5 Championship.

Body Calling all young football enthusiasts. The Central City Football Camp is back, providing an exciting opportunity for 4th to 8th-grade students to hone their football skills and techniques.

Body It has been an outstanding run for the Central City/Fullerton American Legion Post #6 Pinnacle Bank Juniors as they carried plenty momentum with them into the B5 Area Tournament held in St. Paul this past week.

Body It has been an exciting season for the Central City/Fullerton American Legion Post #6 Juniors as they have rattled off 19 wins and in the process were crowned the champion of the Mid-Nebraska League with an impressive 10-5 victory over Holdrege on Sunday.

Body After wrapping up the East Championship, the Post #6 Juniors defeated Holdrege 10-5 on Sunday to be crowned the Mid-Nebraska League Champion.

Body The Central City Track Club displayed exceptional talent and determination at the highly anticipated 2023 AAU Track and Field Regional Qualifier in Des Moines. These young athletes showcased their skills and competed fiercely against top-notch competition from the region.
