Friday night was a wet one on the grass field at Adams Central where they Bison matched the Patriots in their patented physical style of play. The night meant big punishment after the catch for guys like Gavin Baldwin (top left) and it also meant a time to shine for the big guys like Ryan Brandes (top right). For a guy like Corbin Kyes (bottom) it meant an opportunity to run around, over and sometimes through the defense who also got in their fair share of hard hits, including the one that ended the final Bison drive on a play that was ruled an incomplete pass. In the end the Bison fell 17-14 but they could hold their head high by giving it their all.

This season has been a special one for the Central City High School softball team already as they have earned 26 wins and won the Central City Invitational title for the second year in a row. The win marked the first time in tournament history that the Bison have earned championships in consecutive years. It has been a full team effort, especially with injuries playing a role in recent weeks. With a next gal up mentality the team has maintained success as they now march into postseason action beginning with the Lou-Platte Conference Tournament. The team will look to Jerzie Schindler to be a leader in the circle and also at the plate where she delivered big on Saturday going five for five with a homerun in one of the teams games.
