Body Last Friday, under the brooding Nebraska skies, the Central City Bison charged through the Lou-Platte Conference Track and Field Meet in Wood River, clinching both the boys’ and girls’ team titles.

Body At Monday’s Kernels baseball game held at the legendary Kernel Field, it was a a day for celebration even if the outcome wasn’t desired. The day brought an opporunity to highlight the seniors on the team including Blake Jensen (left) with his parents Jeff and Amber Jensen.

Body As the curtains drew on the regular season, the Central City/Centura Kernels hosted Elkhorn on a poignant Monday night that honored seniors Leyton Dalland and Blake Jensen.

Body After enduring a three-day postponement, the Nebraska Christian track team competed Monday in the conference meet in Burwell, Ne. Both the women and men were able to claim the championship trophies on a rare, gorgeous spring day.

Body At the Edwin and Bernice Locke Theater on April 24th, Central City High School transformed into a hub of excitement and pride as five standout student-athletes committed to continue their sports careers at the collegiate level.

Body Last Wednesday it was a special day for (Left to right) Karlee Seitz, Makayla Enevoldsen, Hallie Rutherford, Ayden Zikmund, Tristan Burbach and Jacob Kucera who all signed their National Letter of Intent to pursue athletics at the next level.

Body The Central City/Centura Kernels experienced a rollercoaster week, highlighted by a major upset and tough losses, leaving them now with a strong 14-5 season record.

Body Grand Island Northwest High School played host to a spectacular showcase of athletic talent as athletes from Central City, Nebraska Christian, and High Plains Community gathered under splendid skies for the Central Nebraska Track and Field Championships.

Body The Palmer Invitational was held Thursday, April 18 in cool, breezy conditions, but the action was hot. The Nebraska Christian girls and boys ran and jumped to team championships while the High Plains boys sprinted to a 3rd place finish.
