With just one more weekend to go before teams set their sites on punching their tickets to the NSAA State Wrestling Championships in Omaha, teams are looking to finish strong.
As Central City High School girls basketball team entered into the Lou-Platte Conference tournament they did so knowing that they would have an uphill battle on Tuesday night as they looked to pull the upset over #2 Ravenna.
It was a big Saturday for Eagles Nation as both basketball teams battled St. Francis for Goldenrod Conference titles. For the Nebraska Christian boys it was a moment of triumph as they avenged a December loss with a 69-56 victory thanks to a great team effort.
There was plenty of success for the Bison at the Lou-Platte Conference Wrestling Tournament Saturday in Gibbon. Tristan Burbach (top left) secured a championship, but so did Parker Zikmund (top right) and Bryce Kunz.
The number on the jersey, not to be confused with Jerzie, says it all as Teagan Sadler (5) and her Bison teammates secured their fifth win of the season on Monday. Sadler played well in the win over Madison with ten points and also led the team in scoring on Tuesday in a loss to Boone Central.
Someway and somehow the 2022-23 wrestling season is heading into the final stretch and this past weekend it was time for the Central City Bison to compete once again in the annual Lou-Platte Conference Wrestling Tournament held this year at Gibbon High School.
The days just keep flying by as the high school basketball season rolls on. This past weekend was a big one for the Nebraska Christian Eagles as both the boys and the girls squads battled their way into Saturday’s Goldenrod Conference Championship games.
Tuesday night the Central City High School boys basketball team found themselves in a rescheduled game against a Boone Central team who had won their previous five games to build a hot streak. The Bison are no stranger to a hot steak themselves having not lost a game since mid-December.
