Thri Shop steps into weekly spotlight

From 5:00 to 7:00 pm each Thursday, multiple local retailers are opting to keep their doors open late to allow shoppers an opportunity to get into stores that would be otherwise closed during that time. The night features shopping opportunities at All the Things Boutique, The Wishing Well, Bing’s Pets, Magnolias Boutique, Central True Value, Wild Roots Market who is now closed for the season, Merrick Medical Center Auxiliary Thrift Shop and MyEllement Boutique.

The entire Kyle Berck Motorsports family pitches in to help Kyle find success in the car and it was a successful run for the team as they won the weekly points series at I-80 Speedway in the tracks final year.

Nearly one year ago Bing’s Pets was welcomed into the Central City retail family as the once online only retailer opened their very own brick and mortar location on the east end of Central City. From there Bing’s Pets has continued to grow into the location where you can now find a variety of products for your pet needs. In the upcoming weeks they will look to showcase that growth with a first Halloween event that will feature prizes for both pet and children costumes on October 22. In November the store will also celebrate their first anniversary, a milestone occasion for any small business. Be on the look out for great buys at Bing’s.

The Halloween season is a special one for Bing’s Pets as they are able to celebrate with their furry friends, but also look forward to a milestone anniversary.

Officer Hedge settles in with Central City Police Department

Officer Matt Hedge You may have noticed a new face patrolling the streets of Central City and that is because the Central City Police Department has welcomed a new officer to the force this year. Officer Matt Hedge who started the job in April, joins the staff at the police department with plenty of experience, both as a paramedic and serving in the United States Air Force. Now as a Police officer, he has taken to his duty, patrolling the streets of Central City to keep the community safe.

10 Years Ago Central City fireman Rod Spiegel received his 20-year service watch and the congratulations of Russ Kreachbaum, president of the Central City Volunteer Fire Department last Wednesday at the departments regular meeting. As part of the Nebraska Christian homecoming celebration members of the school’s first graduating class returned including, Kenneth and Lillian Martin, Fern Boldt, Dorothy Cook, Marjorie Young, Judy Taylor, Linda Francis, Shirley Garwood, Lloyd Thorin, Stephen LaBar, Glenn Sawyer and Ken Taylor.
