Ranchers suggest ways to better CRP program

Ranchers in a University of Nebraska–Lincoln study said the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) could be modernized and improved using regenerative ranching practices. David Sandahl, the master’s student from the School of Natural Resources who conducted the study over the past three years, interviewed twenty-four ranchers in Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota.

Palmer resident earns admiralship in the state’s Great Navy Warren Lambert, a ninety-five-year-old Palmer-area resident, was recently awarded an admiralship in the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska by Governor Jim Pillen. Admiralship in the Great Navy is an honorary civic title bestowed by the Governor of Nebraska on individuals deemed to have made significant contributions to the state’s sense of the “Good Life.” The title’s tongue-in-cheek name references Nebraska’s landlocked geography.

10 YEARS AGO For the tenth year running, Nebraska Christian Schools in Central City on Friday evening hosted renowned conductor Eric Dale Knapp and his production of the traditional Festival of Lessons and Carols. After a two-year hiatus from the State Theater, the Central City Volunteer Fire Department children’s movie made a triumphant return on Saturday as 155 children– and a number of parents and volunteers– crowded into the theater for a free showing of Disney Pixar’s Inside Out.
