MAC welcomes Dr. Steven Wees for Holocaust program

This past Sunday, Dr. Steven Wees joined the Merrick Arts Council for a special presentation at the Performing Arts Center. Aside from being an accomplished doctor in Rheumatology, he is also the son of Holocaust survivor Elizabeth Bodek Wees. For the past 6 years, he has been traveling the country, telling her story and educating people about the Holocaust.

Linda Jensen leaves behind lasting legacy following 40-year career at city hall

Linda Jensen is beginning her semi-retirement after working for the city after 40 years moving to a part-time position. Having served the city of Central City for so long, she has become invaluable in her knowledge and innovation that has improved the City Hall office.

Giving Back

The BPOE (Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks) from Grand Island Lodge 604 delivered shoes and socks to Central City Elementary School to be used for students in transition. The items were paid for with a Beacon Grant received from Grand Lodge. (Left to right) Counselor Laken Parde and student Owen Ferris were all smiles as they accepted the donation from State President Jane Berggren.
