I would like to take this oportunity to thank everyone who has been so kind and thoughtful to me during my recent arm injury. For the cards, calls, food, gifts, furnishing transportation etc. also the care received from our medical facility was the best.

The Merrick County Fair is back, ready to spin a web of joy, laughter, and nostalgia from July 29th to August 2nd at the Merrick County Fairgrounds. This year, the fair is brimming with fun-filled attractions that appeal to the seasoned wisdom and youthful vigor of our older attendees.

Local Pinnacle Bank donates historic Todd Williams painting to Merrick County Historical Museum

On Tuesday, Pinnacle Bank of Central City made a significant donation to the Merrick County Historical Museum, handing over a cherished piece of local history and culture. The item, a beautiful painting titled “Stitzer Avenue-1902,” was created by renowned local artist and Central City native, Todd Williams.

Clarks receives housing grant through hard work and help of celebrity donor

Clarks has recently received the Rural Workforce Housing Grant after a pledge drive that was done by the Village of Clarks and CHIP. While they had a much lower goal, they ended up receiving double what they set out to make, thanks to one particular Clarks native.

A special thank you to the staff of the Merrick Medical Clinic for their loving care and compassion and also to Tabitha Journey House for their care the last month. Thank you to Father Bill L’Heureux, Bishop William Denninger, Father Charles Torrey and Father Art Faesser for the beautiful service.

Rod Engel, a Central City principal has been elected as the president elect of the Nebraska Association of Elementary School Principals. Merrick County has named its new Agricultural Educator in Troy Ingram from Waverly who comes to Central City after being involved in protection ag for the last two years.

Great performances regularly take the PAC stage and Saturday it was time for the Central City Children’s Theater to take center stage.
