DECA’s Miracle Minute for MDA

Body
On September 15, 2023, the Central City DECA Chapter hosted a Miracle Minute for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). DECA members gathered at the end of the first quarter of the home football game. The announcer put one minute on the scoreboard, and DECA members had one minute to run around the stands with buckets to collect any spare change the fans might have. The Muscular Dystrophy Association is committed to transforming the lives of individuals living with muscular dystrophy. The DECA chapter collected a total of $592.62 for MDA! Carter Simonsen, Junior, explained “Lots of people were at the game which is always great, and it resulted in our biggest amount donated ever. We love having our communities help to reach this goal!” Thank you to all who donated to this great cause!

What do people say about Central City?

Body
“My husband and I were incredibly blown away at our experience in this little town. I spoke with some Central City fans after, for they should know the class act their town and school presented tonight. First, the (Veterans) memorial is breathtaking! Maybe a few tears were shed. Humbling to say the least. The welcome to the football stadium was incredibly kind and a high schooler working the concessions said thank you for coming. During pre-game, they gave a little intro about our school and the history behind the Fort. How cool was that? After the game, we had a cuple injured players, and some of the Central City players came over to shake their hands. Hands down the best school experience we have ever had. I love your hometown and you should be proud to say “that’s myhometown.” These are the moments where the hustle and bustle of everyday life become just that and what really matters prevails.”
