Merrick County Receives Dividend Check

Merrick County has received another membership dividend, this time in the amount of $6,198, from the Nebraska Intergovernmental Risk Management Association II (NIRMA II), the county=s workers= compensation coverage and risk management services provider. The dividend was part of a planned $1 million distribution shared with 83 Nebraska counties and eight county-associated agencies during NIRMA=s annual membership meeting on Oct. 19-20 in Kearney.

Merrick County Historical Museum holds cemetery tour in Central City

On Sunday, October 22, at 2:00 PM, the Merrick County Historical Museum hosted their annual cemetery tour at the Central City Cemetery north of town. Despite the scattered showers that came in throughout the day and the constant wind, many people showed up. Everyone who arrived for the tour met up by the Civil War statue, where they had a table set up and served hot chocolate, candy, homemade cookies, and bottled water. People in attendance were also provided with a tour booklet that they could take along with them.

Tri-Community Foundation awards over $47,000

Reflecting its unwavering commitment to strengthening community bonds and fostering local development, the Tri-Community Foundation (TCF) has announced a whopping $42,000 in grants for organizations within Clarks, Polk, and Hordville this year. Moreover, the foundation has generously allocated $5,000 to support the higher education dreams of outgoing seniors from High Plains Community Schools.

The award, presented by the Gustave A Larson Company, lauds Nebraska Heating & Air for their outstanding performance in HVAC Systems financing through the Gustave A. Larson’s finance partner, “Service Finance Company”.

September was a busy month for the Tri-Community Foundation as they had to find time to deliver checks and many of them. One of those checks was delivered to the Clarks Business Peoples Association to help with their mission. Another was presented to the Clarks Volunteer Fire Department while one was also presented to the Village of Clarks. These are just three examples of local organizations who benefited during a grant cycle that witnessed over $47,000 presented.
