Men’s health takes center stage locally

Central City’s Merrick Medical Center recently concluded its annual Men’s Night, an event that combined educational health talks with a spirited atmosphere of camaraderie and competition. Held last Wednesday at the Merrick County 4-H Building from 5:30 to 8 PM, the evening provided a platform for men in the community to engage in discussions about their health, participate in “man therapy” activities such as axe throwing, and enjoy a tasting by Highway 14 Brewing Company.

Veterans Wall tradition continues with twelfth year

When you walk into the Central City Elementary school around this time, you will find the walls by one of the entrances covered in small laminated posters with the pictures of over 200 veterans. From all branches, and covering many conflicts going all the way back to the civil war. Each veteran on the wall is a relative to a child at the elementary school.

Second annual community Christmas event planned for December 3

The Merrick County Courthouse square in Central City is set to transform into a winter wonderland for the “Rockin’ Around the Courthouse Square” event, scheduled for Sunday, December 3rd, from 2 to 5 pm. This free event is designed to be a festive, family-friendly affair, offering an array of activities and entertainment that promise to spread the holiday spirit throughout the community.
