March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) encourages all Nebraskans to join in celebrating March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. This month is an opportunity to recognize that our community is a blend of people with unique abilities that are all valuable. Everyone deserves a chance to lead fulfilling and productive lives and achieve their goals. This month also allows Nebraskans to celebrate the achievements that have been made towards this goal.

County to hold town hall meeting

The Merrick County Board of Supervisors convened on a recent Tuesday morning to address the ongoing discussion regarding the structure and effectiveness of township governance within the county. The primary focus of this dialogue is the consideration of a significant alteration to the current system, specifically, the proposal to dissolve the township form of government in favor of a streamlined approach to county management.

Dreamcoats, Drama, and a Dash of Livestock: Central City High’s musical extravaganza wows audiences

Central City High School’s stage transformed into a kaleidoscope of dreams last weekend, as the school’s musical program presented its rousing rendition of ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.’ This production not only delivered an entertaining escape with live animals, including a large camel to a pair of goats from Lone Tree Show Goats, but also marked a heartfelt finale for the school’s seniors, with each performance drawing near-sellout crowds.
