The Central City American Legion Post #6 Juniors have achieved a feat that will be remembered for generations. Completing their season with an unblemished record of 21-0, they clinched the MidNebraska League Championship with a commanding 8-5 victory over the Holdrege Wilkens ADP Juniors. This triumph not only secures their place in the annals of local sports history but also draws a striking parallel to the legendary teams of the past, notably the 1957 and 1958 “Midgets,” who are now known as Juniors.

Each year the McMahon Family (right) returns to Kernel Field to host the annual Tom McMahon Memorial Tournament. Tom was not only a leader in the community, but also a proud supporter of Central City American Legion Post #6 baseball while serving in multiple roles. This year the tournament would have certainly brought a smile to McMahon’s face as the Pinnacle Bank Juniors defeated David City 8-0 and Sutton 13-5 as they were named champions of the tournament. The team now sits 17-0 on the season and will look to finish strong as they look ahead to postseason action with a league championship, area tournament and potentially a return to the state tournament.
