Both contests highlighted the Storm’s tenacity, but the team ultimately saw their postseason hopes dashed in the D1-5 Subdistrict Final.

The NSAA State Cross Country Meet held last Friday at Kearney Country Club brought together the best runners from across Nebraska to compete on the challenging course. For many athletes, the Kearney course is known for its rolling hills and grueling final stretch, making any victory or personal record that much sweeter. Nebraska Christian’s boys and girls teams brought their best to the course, collecting accolades and personal milestones, while Central City’s smaller but determined group of runners left everything on the field, setting personal bests on the big stage.

Last Thursday night at Centura High School, the Central City Bison volleyball team etched their names into the history books, securing the Lou-Platte Conference Championship. It was a monumental night filled with both the excitement of competition and the scent of pizza and hot dogs wafting through the gym, which was packed to witness the championship battle. Central City triumphed over Centura in a four-set thriller, marking their first conference title since 2001 and their inaugural volleyball title as members of the Lou-Platte Conference.
