Eagles cross country dominates en route to state

The Nebraska Christian Eagles soared to victory at the Class D-4 District Cross Country Meet last Thursday, qualifying both their boys’ and girls’ teams for the NSAA State Cross Country Meet in Kearney this Friday. The boys were crowned district champions, while the girls finished a strong third, solidifying both teams’ places at the state competition.

It was a week of hard-fought battles for both Nebraska Christian and High Plains volleyball teams, as their respective journeys through the Goldenrod and Crossroads Conference tournaments came to heartbreaking conclusions. Though neither team achieved the outcome they hoped for, the effort and resilience displayed by both programs will be remembered as they turn their focus towards future opportunities.

While the Bison’s dreams of a state tournament appearance were cut short, their journey throughout the season was nothing short of inspiring.

Cyah White Bull finishes strong at state golf tournament with birdie-filled close

Central City sophomore Cyah White Bull wrapped up her state golf tournament performance with a flourish, finishing tied for 25th at the Class C State Golf Tournament held at Lake Maloney Golf Club. White Bull posted a two-day total of 187 (93-94), but it was her remarkable finish on the final three holes of the second round that truly highlighted her day.

The Central City Bison volleyball team has been riding a wave of success in the Lou-Platte Conference Tournament, making history as they advanced to their first-ever conference championship match as a member of the conference. After sweeping the Ord Chanticleers on Monday night and defeating Ravenna in a thrilling four-set battle on Tuesday, the Bison are one win away from claiming the Lou-Platte Conference crown.
