The Bible Says

Body
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. 2 Peter 1:20-21 KJV Ephesians 3:8-13 KJV 8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; 9And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: 10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, 11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: 12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

Class of 1974 celebrates 50th reunion

Body
During the weekend of Aug. 24-25, the class of 1974 had their best reunion yet! Forty-four classmates along with 20 spouses kicked off the festivities with social hour and dinner at Prairie Creek Winery. The meal was delicious but reuniting with old friends was priceless. Few events offer the chance to go back in time and laugh like a teenager. When the winery closed, we weren’t ready to end the party so we headed to The Independent Club to continue the celebration. Sunday began with a tour of the High School given by Jeff Jensen and Ray Huggett, our much-admired Assistant Principal. When we began high school, the building was only 2 years old, brand new and full of modern features. Finally, the rest of the day was spent at the lovely home of Craig and Peggy Clausen. It was a very special weekend where everyone arrived older but left young again.

Supervisors hold regular meeting

Body
The Merrick County Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, with the future of the Litzenberg Memorial Long-Term Care facility continuing to dominate discussions. Board members revisited the decision made last month not to place a bond issue for a new facility on the November ballot. During the meeting, it was proposed that a special election be held in January 2025 for the bond, but this would require a 90-day notice. The board ultimately decided to reevaluate the situation after the November election, particularly considering school bond issues in the Palmer and Twin River districts.
