Community welcomes Dr. Poppe

Twenty years ago, Dr. Brian Buhlke joined a veteran staff of physicians here in Central City and though many things have changed over the years, a tradition of outstanding medical professionals continues.
Welcome Dr. Poppe Last Thursday the red carpet was rolled out for the Poppe family at Merrick Medical Center where they held an open house event to welcome their newest physician and his family to town. It doesn’t get more official then getting the welcome from Central City icon, Ray Huggett (left) who shakes hands with Dr. Rick Poppe (right) who is now seven weeks into his career at Merrick Medical Center.

USAF Band ready to present free concert

The United States Air Force Heartland of America Band’s brass ensemble, will present a free concert on Wednesday, October 19 at 7:00 pm, at the Central City High School Performing Arts Center. Offutt Brass performs as a brass quintet with a percussionist, proudly showcasing the U.S.
Ready To Entertain Area residents can often find quality entertainment here in Central City thanks to the Merrick Arts Council, but they certainly will be in for a treat next Wednesday when the The United States Air Force Heartland of America Band’s brass ensemble, Offutt Brass, will present a free concert at the Performing Arts Center.

County Board holds meeting

Tuesday morning the Merrick County Board of Supervisors held their regularly scheduled meeting with a rather short agenda following months of budget, ARPA and Long Term renovation talks.
