Central City High School prepares for homecoming celebration

Central City High School is gearing up for its annual Homecoming celebration this week, with excitement building toward the festivities. The week will come to a grand finale with the Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally scheduled for 2 p.m. on Thursday. The parade will run from the high school to the elementary school, where the pep rally will take place, skipping the usual downtown route this year.

We welcome another new member to our chamber bunch. Rico’s Kitchen, owned by Juan Rico Castillo, is open in the former Waffles ‘n More space. He serves some of Chrissie’s favorites and has added his own touch to the menu. With his expanded hours you can try one of his daily specials, order something new from the menu or still get breakfast all day long. Please take time to stop, eat and meet Rico and his staff and welcome them to Central City.

Central Valley Ag, a proud member of the cooperative community, is excited to join the celebration with a focus on the future.

Litzenberg radiology supervisor Kelsey Vakiner makes an adjustment to the hospital’s digital mammography unit, an upgrade in imaging which Vakiner says has made a significant impact on the efficiency with which doctors can diagnose and then treat breast cancer. Central City softball captains Abbi Maresh and Isabell Green make plays in the Central City invite which took place this last weekend.
