New state champion crowned

Recently at the Nebraska state horseshoe tournament, a local youngster , CJ Mcllheran from Chapman earned the title of Nebraska state boys Cadet Champion. This division is for those participants 11 and under in age. CJ was also recognized and given an award for having the most improved ringer percentage in his division in Nebraska. Horseshoe throwing definitely runs in CJ’s family as his grandfather Marvin Garbers also pitches in a different men’s class and his sister Pasiley, who pitched in her first girls Cadet class, earned a fourth place award. Congratulations to these two young competitors!

Nebraska Farm Bureau launches new health plans to lower costs of healthcare for individuals and families

Lower health insurance cost to Nebraska individuals and families is a high priority to Nebraska Farm Bureau (NEFB). As a result, NEFB has introduced a new product, the Nebraska Farm Bureau Health Plans, that could be a game changer in lowering health insurance costs for all Nebraskans.

This prestigious honor places Brooks among the top academic talents in the nation, representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors.

Local elections highlight new voices and key races

As Merrick County moves closer to the November 5th General Election, much of the focus has been on national races, including the presidential election. However, for residents of District 4 in Merrick County, a local race is drawing significant attention. Carolyn Kucera, the incumbent Republican candidate for the Merrick County Board of Supervisors, is officially running unopposed on the ballot, but Katie Benner’s recent announcement as a write-in candidate has added a new layer of competition to the race.

On a night where the Bison inducted legendary coach, jody Gavers, into the hall of fame the team had a lot to celebrate winning both of it’s games.

Bison Athletic Hall of Fame welcomes three new members during unforgettable evening

On a night filled with both gridiron excitement and heartfelt nostalgia, Central City High School celebrated the induction of three new members into its Athletic Hall of Fame. The event, held during halftime of the Bison football team’s thrilling double-overtime home opener against Cozad, culminated in a special ceremony afterward in the high school, where friends, family, and fans gathered to honor Jordan Paup, Gary Maresh, and Dan Cordsen.
