In a week of high-intensity basketball, the Central City High School boys basketball team experienced a rollercoaster of emotions. The week began with a challenging loss to Boone Central but ended with a thrilling victory over Centura in what is affectionately known as the “Clash of the Kern.”

The Central City Bison boys and girls wrestling teams, along with the High Plains wrestling team, showcased impressive skills and determination at the recent Crete Invitational. The meet was a significant opportunity for local athletes to test their mettle against some of the best wrestlers in the region.

The Central City Girls wrestling team has made a promising start to the 2023/24 season, demonstrating skill and determination in their early matches even without experience being on their side. Alongside them, the High Plains Community Girls wrestling team also showed their prowess at the York Invitational, marking a great start for both teams showcasing a rapidly growing local talent pool of female wrestlers.

The Central City Bison wrestling team has kicked off their 2023/24 season with a bang, showcasing their strength and skill in both dual and invitational competitions. The team’s early success includes a commanding dual win over Adams Central and notable performances at the York Invitational, where they faced stiff competition from Class A and Class B schools.

The Central City High School girls basketball team got off to a 2-0 start for the first time in 15 years thanks to solid play inside the paint. Againt Gibbon, Emma Steinke (3) showed her skill going to the hoop, but it has been senior Addie Buhlke (25) who has stole the show for the Bison.
