Saturday was a big day of wrestling for the Central City Bison as they competed well against tough competition at Grand Island Northwest. The day was also one of milestones as Riley Lavene secured his 100th win. Soon after, Bryce Kunz notched his 100th career pin and in the next dual, Dylan Lovejoy secured his 100th career win. Central City will see action Thursday inside the Bison Dome for a girls and boys dual.

For multiple days, Central City hosted some of the fiercest competition in the state as the Runza Holiday Classic brought together basketball teams from across Nebraska. It was a tournament filled with grit, passion, and unforgettable moments. But as the final buzzer sounded, all four local teams—Central City and Nebraska Christian boys and girls—felt the sting of defeat in their final games. Among them, it was the Lady Bison of Central City who came closest to glory, finishing as tournament runners-up in a hard-fought battle for the championship.
