High Plains, Nebraska Christian wrestlers set sights on district tournaments

With the regular season in the books, the High Plains Storm and Nebraska Christian Eagles are gearing up for their biggest challenge yet: the district wrestling tournaments. Each wrestler enters with one goal in mind—to secure a spot at the NSAA State Wrestling Tournament in Omaha, which will take place next Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at the CHI Health Center. High Plains will compete in the Class D-3 District Tournament at Central Valley High School in Greeley, while Nebraska Christian will battle at the Class D-1 District Tournament in Shelton.

In a stretch that will be remembered for years to come, the Bison took down Valentine in a Friday night battle before setting their sights on Ainsworth, where they bulldozed the competition to claim the team title at the Ainsworth Invitational. Senior Bryce Kunz left his mark in dominant fashion, pinning his way to a championship and earning the Tyler Bower Outstanding Wrestler of the Tournament honor.
