Here we are once again meaning that you that you are back once again to get your recap of the week that was. Boy it sure was an eventful week! Things have been a bit hectic this past month with my various responsibilities and interests, this past week took that to a new level.

Editor: It was a real honor for our church to receive a #commUNITY Award from the Chamber of Commerce this past weekend. Besides being a great party, the night helped me clarify a few misconceptions about the monthly food bank with some folks.

Week two has gained more speed than the first week of the Nebraska Legislature. On Monday we finished debating the report that assigns every senator to a standing committee. I am blessed to have been assigned to the Appropriations Committee which tackles the state’s budget.

For those of you betting on me being a goner thanks to Friday the 13th, you had just about as much luck as I did playing the good ol’ Nebraska Lottery on Friday. I am still alive and kicking and glad to be back for another week.

Thank you to the many people who attended the town hall meeting last week concerning the future of Litzenberg Long Term Care. The general feeling is that it was a beneficial meeting and many good ideas were expressed.

Lock your doors and hide your kids because Friday the 13th is coming!! Alright, I admit that I may have made that statement a little over dramatic then required, but Friday will be the 13th day of the month and for some that means more than it does to the rest of us.
