Of all our Nebraska traditions, one is especially memorable. It’s a big production that seems to bring our whole state together to enjoy exhibits, shows, food, friends, and a lot of fun. The sights, sounds, and smells are unmistakable.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes! I made it home from the office on Tuesday in time to see the boys for a minute and even though I spent most of it alone, I sure felt the love. Mama, your baby boy turned 32 today.

Considering the value of S.W.E.A.T. Currently the number one issue facing all fifty states is the shortage of skilled workers in every area of business which is causing a cascade of issues in commerce and the economy.

Activities Desk As we kick off the 2023-2024 school year, the Activities Department is geared up for another exciting year. The school year is filled with new contests and events. Each activity has been working extremely hard this summer to get where they are now.

A busy week here in the area! So much so that we had to make some cuts on what all we had planned sadly. This week Jacob and I were busy making our way around the area with stops in Central City and Chapman.

We are so excited to welcome you back to Central City Elementary School! One of the things we are looking forward to is the Open House and CCES Barbeque. In talking with the PTO we really wanted to provide you with an opportunity to not only tour the building and meet your child’s teacher, but also provide an event where you can meet and talk with other parents in our school. We are a community and our school community is so special. Providing events like this will be a focus this school year as we know it takes a village to raise our children!

Summer, fairs family and the fabric of society Few things touch the heart more than seeing a young family walking the midway at the fair and seeing young children go on their first rides at the carnival. Is there anything cuter than a child petting a calf or holding a lamb at a 4H exhibit? As the most elemental level of human government, families are the foundation of any nation. Few things are more powerful than children and grandchildren in motivating us to fight to uphold our American values.

We have now survived the Merrick County Fair and you can feel the excitement in the air as fall sports are upon us. Monday practices kicked off and we already have some scrimmages on the horizon. What a time to be alive!
