STUDENTS ATTEND STATE DECA CONFERENCE

EIGHT OF THE CENTRAL CITY DECA MEMBERS attended the State DECA Conference in Lincoln from March 19th through March 21st. The students competed in various competitions from Automotive Services Marketing to Business Law & Ethics Team Decision Making. Londyn Fisher said “It was so much fun connecting with other members from different chapters”. She also included that everyone should compete if they have the chance. During our time there, Fyn Fasbender competed for vice president as a state officer. He campaigned for most of the time while saying his slogan “Grin for Fyn.” Paul Johnson received first place on the exam portion of the Automotive Services Marketing event; Luke McHargue received first place on his first role play and Top 8 overall in the Sports and Entertainment Marketing event; Fisher and Landen Purvis received Top 8 in the Business and Law Ethics Team Decision Making event; and Fyn Fasbender was chosen for the Elevate Leadership Academy. Overall it was a great time and members met so many new people.

State’s ag land values decline for second year

The value of agricultural land in Nebraska declined one percent over the past year to an average of $3,905 per acre as of February 1st, according to the preliminary report from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s 2025-26 Farm Real Estate Market Survey. It is the second consecutive year of declining land values since the market reached $4,015 per acre in 2024.
