While roadwork can be a temporary inconvenience, it remains a vital part of keeping the city moving smoothly. It’s the classic trade-off: short-term hassle for longterm benefit—a modern-day yin and yang, where the balance isn’t good and evil, but rather detours and drivability.

Earl and Zanetta Schenck moved to Central City 9 years ago, as they wished to be closer their daughter, Janell Benson, and their sonin- law. Previously, the couple had lived in Ogallala, Nebraska, for 52 years before packing their bags and relocating somewhere completely new. They both positively love the Central City area in the present, but weren’t the biggest of fans when they first arrived.
