Strobel Fabrication presents first D4LC Welding Camp

Monday, June 23 marked the first day in a two-week long welding camp. Sponsored by Strobel Fabrication and through The Leadership Center in Aurora, Nebraska, the camp aimed to be a learning opportunity for the kids involved to better their skills no matter their prior experience. Across the entire camp, there are 40 kids across 20 different schools coming to better their welding experience and know-how. The first week is currently ongoing, and the second week will be taking place the week after Independence Day this year.

This year’s fair promises five days of classic fun, high-octane action, and community camaraderie, offering something for every age and interest.

274 Doane University students make spring Dean’s List

A total of 274 Doane University students made the university’s Spring 2025 Dean’s List, nearly a third of all students enrolled at Doane’s Crete campus. To make the Dean’s List, undergraduate students enrolled on the university’s Crete campus must earn a grade point average of 3.70 or higher in at least 12 graded credits during the semester.

USDA designates 12 Nebraska counties as Natural Disaster Areas due to drought

This Secretarial natural disaster designation allows the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) to extend much-needed emergency credit to producers recovering from natural disasters through emergency loans. Emergency loans can be used to meet various recovery needs including the replacement of essential items such as equipment or livestock, reorganization of a farming operation, or to refinance certain debts. FSA will review the loans based on the extent of losses, security available, and repayment ability.

Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation continues to invest in the future of agriculture by awarding scholarships to future agricultural educators

The Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation awarded 11 scholarships to students enrolled in the Agricultural Education Teaching Program at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln (UNL). “The future of agriculture education is bright with these recipients at the helm,” said Megahn Schafer, executive director of the Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation.
