DHHS explains Medicaid rate adjustment in response to provider misinformation

July 18, Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) CEO Steve Corsi, Medicaid and Long-Term Care Division Director Drew Gonshorowski, and Karoly Mirnics, dean and director of the Munroe-Meyer Institute provided information about the approaching adjustment to Medicaid payment rates for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to Nebraska families. Rate adjustments will go into effect Aug. 1.

July is coming to an end an unusual July for Nebraska. Ordinairly we are looking to the skies for a hopeful sight of a rain cloud for the much needed moisture for the growing crops. This year it’s more like a prayer for the rain to stop for a couple weeks let us get the hay mowed, baled and the wheat harvested. The lawns are loving the moisture, mowed in the morning by evening looks like it can be mowed again the next day.

Producers and landowners can now enroll in USDA’s Grassland Conservation Reserve Program

WASHINGTON, July 14, 2025 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced that agricultural producers and private landowners can now enroll in the Grassland Conservation Reserve Program (Grassland CRP). The sign-up runs from today, July 14, to Aug. 8, 2025. Grassland CRP, offered by USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA), is a voluntary working lands conservation program that enables participants to conserve grasslands while also continuing most grazing and haying practices.

Broadway Academy holds its second show at the PAC

The Broadway Academy has just completed its second year in Central City, drawing students from across Nebraska and beyond for a weeklong immersion in song, dance, and theatre. Over the course of the week, students trained with professionals from the industry, culminating in a special weekend performance held at the Performing Arts Center, where each student had their moment in the spotlight.

The timeless tale of Red Riding Hood got a delightful twist this past weekend, as local youth took center stage in the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of Red Riding Hood, adapted and scored by Michael McGill. In a whirlwind week of rehearsals and creative collaboration, students transformed into a vibrant cast of woodland characters, bringing the stage to life with heart, humor, and a healthy dose of howling.
