Ruth 3:10-18 KJV “And he said, Blessed be thou of the LORD, my daughter: for thou hast shewed more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as thou followedst not young men, whether poor or rich. And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.

Back to the beginning: The first Lone Tree Days and the roots of community

Body
It began with a monument—a solitary cottonwood, remembered not for its grandeur but for the shade it gave weary travelers. It stood quietly for decades along the Platte River, a sentinel for westbound pioneers, a sacred meeting ground for the Pawnee, and a landmark that could be seen for 25 miles in any direction. That tree, known as the Lone Tree, may have fallen in a storm in 1865, but in 1988, its spirit rose again—this time in the form of a celebration.

2:13-23 NKJV “Then she said, “Let me find favor in your sight, my Lord; for you have comforted me, and have spoken kindly to your maidservant, though I am not like one of your maidservants.” Now Boaz said to her at mealtime, “Come here, and eat of the bread, and dip your piece of bread in the vinegar.” So she sat beside the reapers, and he passed parched grain to her; and she ate and was satisfied, and kept some back. And when she rose up to glean, Boaz commanded his young men, saying, “Let her glean even among the sheaves, and do not reproach her.

Father’s Day

Body
Doing a little research I found that each month has at least one day marked as a Holiday with the exception of August. We acknowledge these days as they are visibly marked on our calendars. Do we ever wonder how this or that month and day got the honor. Being Father’s Day is this month I did some history reading on it. Two women were instrumental in getting a day to honor fathers just as we have a day to honor mothers.

The Bible Says

Body
“Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.”
