Luke 1:39-55 KJV “And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda; and entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth. And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: and she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.

Life is a Bowl of Sweet Cherries, Just Watch Out for the Pits

These past few months, a few friends of mine have had to make difficult decisions concerning their elderly parents. The realization that they can no longer live independently means choices have to be made about their future. That and the death of my husband last fall brings the reality of poor health and death to the forefront of my thoughts. Life is a series of laughter, happiness, and sadness. Our life span is a series. We start as infants, our needs are met by caring parents, then the toddler stage moving to school age then teenagers, young adults, middle age, and the final step old age. The last step of the series. Some live long others meet their death at a younger age. Life is precious, makeitagoodjourney. Memoriesarewhatweleavebehindsolive with a smile.

“Moreover Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, have I purchased to be my wife, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance, that the name of the dead be not cut off from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place: ye are witnesses this day. And all the people that were in the gate, and the elders, said, We are witnesses. The LORD make the woman that is come into thine house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Beth-lehem: and let thy house be like the house of Pharez, whom Tamar bare unto Judah, of the seed which the LORD shall give thee of this young woman. So Boaz took Ruth, andshewashiswife:andwhen he went in unto her, the LORD gave her conception, and she bare a son. And the women said unto Naomi, BlessedbetheLORD,whichhathnot left thee this day without a kinsman, thathisnamemaybefamousinIsrael. And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life, and a nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons, hath born him. And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse unto it. And the women her neighbours gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi; and they called his name Obed: he is the father of Jesse, the father of David. Now these are the generations of Pharez: Pharez begat Hezron, and Hezron begat Ram, and Ram begat Amminadab, and Amminadab begat Nahshon, and Nahshon begat Salmon, and Salmon begat Boaz, and Boaz begat Obed, andObedbegatJesse, andJessebegat David.”
